The Cross

April 22, 2011 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Today, being Good Friday, I decided to dedicate this post to the- CROSS- It’s kind of Ironic that such a simple design (2 lines forming at a right angle) could have such an impact…

Here are some different uses of The CROSS in interiors and otherwise

Celtic CROSSES

CROSS Chandelier

Modern swiss CROSS stainless steel tiles

Antique Ethiopian CROSS

This CROSS is in my Bathroom-
from themississippigiftcompany.com, painted by Jennifer Stevens…

I have this CROSS hanging in my Living Room- LOVE IT!

I am thankful that the cross is and has been so widely used throughout history. And more importantly, thankful for the meaning that the CROSS symbolizes…

I have developed a small addiction~ BLOGGING~ which includes my blog and viewing other blogs. There are so many inspiring blogs out in cyberspace. I feel lucky to live in a generation where technology is at my fingertips anytime I feel the need to zone out into the land of limitless possibilities….

I have always been a dreamer, and a talker. Blogging gives me the platform to both Speak (actually~Type) my mind, and explore my aspirations.

Daydreaming about Daybeds

February 13, 2011 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Now that my little Addi Lou is growing up and out of her crib (not that she ever slept in it anyway),I have decided to get her a Big Girl Bed. Her room just looks so bare with a mattress on the floor. Of course like most of the other furniture I buy, I research for many hours… sometimes months before deciding. As I was searching, I found quite a few that I love. Some would be great in her room and others are just styles that caught my attention. I would love some feedback on your favorites. I decided on a daybed, so she will have more room to play in her room.

This one from Restoration Hardware is probably my favorite so far- it has such a classic, vintage feel

French Antique Style~ Perfect for an afternoon of lounging

I love the look of this cottage daybed by Bradshaw Kirchofer- Of course I would with it’s $1800 price tag!

Here is another on by Bradshaw Kirchofer~

This Modern style from West Elm is clean and simple and looks great with layered bedding

Last but not least… The Barcelona Couch by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, my ALL TIME favorite Daybed. I fell in love with this, while in Design School, and decided that I would have this some day… The real Thing, not a knock off!

Snowed in…..

February 9, 2011 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

So, we are on day 1 of round 2 of being snowed in this winter. I am already getting cabin fever- at least the kids are still sleeping! I am very blessed to have 2 kids that sleep in! It helps that we keep em up late on nights when we know we don’t have to get up!

I will try and make the most of my time, while I am lounging in my pj’s and drinking coffee!

I am researching my favorite Cold weather items that I am so tempted to purchase while at home with nothing to do!!! Except spend time with my family and watch movies and the snow pile up outside the window!

Here are a few~ Enjoy!!!

Handknit of colorful cotton, this cozy, a-bit-eccentric afghan feels homespun~ Sold at Anthropologie

Also from Anthropologie~ Brightly Colored Cups for my favorite cold weather drink… coffee with French Vanilla creamer

How cute are these Flannel sheets…for a little girl or teen- from Garnet Hill

Very Cool Vintage Andirons found~scottesteppgallery.1stdibs.com

If you are like us and have kiddos to keep away from the Fire, you will need a screen~
this is a classic from Restoration Hardware

2 of these high back chairs from Horchow are a great alternative to the wing chair- for flanking the fireplace

And of course a book to read to the kids while lounging~ This was one of my Favorites as a child. I am so blessed to have a daughter to get to read this one to. It can also be found at Anthropologie

2011 Red Carpet Fashion influenced by Art Deco????

January 17, 2011 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I decided my post for today would be about the Fashion from last nights Golden Globe Awards….After all, isn’t Interior Design influenced by current Fashion Trends????  As I watched the Red Carpet last night, I was seriously hoping that Most of the attire worn by the Celebs would not carry into the design for interiors in the upcoming years………………….. What styles did you like or NOT?
Nude& Emerald Green seemed to be ever so present among the Beauties that graced the Carpet.
Here are some of my Favorites….

~Megan Fox~
Angelina~ At first I wasn’t so sure~ But I think I am a Fan of the Dress~
Or Maybe, just her Accessory~ Brad !!!!
Metallics are so in right now- in Fashion and Home Design~ Very Glamorous~
———Beautiful Jane———
Gray is my Favorite color
My Favorite of the night Sofia Vergara
I won’t post my not -so favorites. I’ll leave that up to Joan and the other Fashion Police!

Design Resolutions for the New Year-

January 14, 2011 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I am really into finding pretty things for people- my main challenge as a ~Little Rock Interior Designer~ is that I am too picky!!
I like to do tons of research, because I want to find items that are stylish yet unique!  I don’t want to just throw something together, I want it to look well thought out and not too Match~y Match~y.  If you know what I mean.
So, getting to the point of my Resolution– I want to be a more organized Designer and spend less time thinking and more time doing.  I sound like a Home Depot commercial!!!

Here are some of the Stylish~ Yet Unique design items I have come across in my Many hours of Research!

Classic~Simple lines Never Go out of style- and can be easily mixed with one of a kind antiques
Love-Love-Love   Everything about this room- I found from Home and Design Magazine
I am For Sure Mad about Plaid

I like to keep “Trendy” items to a minimum.  A tray can be just enough to give you that up-to-date look!

I want 2 of these for Myself!!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR
