Beachin’

July 20, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

This is the time of year that I can’t get the beach off my mind.
But if I can’t be there, looking at rooms inspired by the beach are the next best thing!

Even just a few small touches of the coast can be a great addition to your space.
Like these baskets from Pottery Barn that I recently used, to hold magazines, in a waiting room for a client.
Glass bottles, like these we used  in a  living room design, are a great way to get a touch of the beach!

Or this collection that my family and I found washed ashore on our recent trip to Cozumel and Roatan.
(please excuse the poor photography skills)
I love the reminder of the time that I got to spend on the beautiful beach with my beautiful family!

Steel My Heart

July 16, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

We need a new exterior back door and I am obsessed with the black steel framed ones.
As it turns out, I have a pretty good connection to a Steel Fabricator
Like Married to one!
But he doesn’t want to make one for me and I am sad.
Like most of my obsessions, I have found lots of inspiration on these
and now I am ready to create my own custom version.
I’m not sure if my Steel Man will read this blog post, but let’s just say this is a “HINT”
Wink, Wink
Here is what I have found…..
These are amazing don’t ya think???
wallhome.net
WHA???
Decorpad.com
DYING………….

I WANT THESE, PLEASE

These would do!

This version might require a POOL!

Trendy Tuesday

Vintage Revivals
I am in the mood again for another trendy Tuesday post.  It must be the Heat!
It makes me want to just sit inside and scour the internet for inspiration.
And believe me, there is a lot of it out there.
Here are some of my favorites that I keep finding.
First lets start with Color
Oh My do we have Color and I LOVE it!
ALL
Trend Bible
But the best thing about the Color is it’s being used against
WHITE or VERY LIGHT Neutral Walls.
They give you freedom and aren’t trying to be the star of the show!
Kidlark
White walls are the best canvas for a collected style, which is definitely on trend right now.
I have been a collective style designer since before it was cool!
I always want the spaces that I design to look collected over time (even if they aren’t).
To me, it really makes a home feel unique and thought out.
Pinterest
Brass is still really in right now, but copper is going to be in the spotlight too.
I love the look of mixed metals. Don’t be afraid to add it to the silver, bronze and brass you already have.
Geometrics are still in, but bold graphic floral prints are back too.
And they are anything but old fashioned!

I hope you are inspired!

Mirror Mirror…

June 24, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I love Mirrors! They are so versatile and can be used in just about any room.
.
This one from Ballard Designs is one of my all time favorites!
I love the way it turned out in my clients foyer.
It’s a great price too!
I have had my eye on this very unique reclaimed wood one for awhile
It would be perfect over a simple upholstered headboard.
Who will let me help you find a place for it in your home???
These wire mirrors can be used together in a creative display or separately
This rectangular style would look great over a single vanity or in a pair in a master bath

I Love the detail on this metal sunburst

I decided to use a pair of simple mirrors here since the bed has so much detail

Let me know if I can help you find the perfect mirror or get one of these on order for you.

Very Superstitious…

June 14, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I am not really superstitious, but there’s always been something about
that has always been a little SCARY to me!
So in honor of this infamous day, here are some SCARY rooms I found.
I really have no words for this room I found on Pinterest
Pinterest
This room, designed by iconic interior designer Rose Cumming, puts a whole new  old meaning to “Eclectic”
Rose Cumming
I’m not sure what’s going on in this room,
but I do like how the art works with the color of the mattress, phone and insulation!
Great art in ugly rooms
This room is BAAAAAAd! 🙂
Great art in ugly rooms
Let me just say how ECSTATIC I am that I was NOT a designer in the ’80’s
WHEW!!!
Great art in ugly rooms

As distracted as I get, I am pretty sure I would not be able to pay attention in this conference room

I couldn’t resist…

Summertime Style

June 11, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Well Summertime has finally arrived and it’s time to add some summertime style to your home!
Try adding lighter, brighter accessories. This might be as simple as new colorful table runner
or a new floor rug
Studio 306
Put away anything that evokes heat – fire logs, heavy rugs and draperies, heaters, and thick blankets.
Replace candles with vessels for fresh cut flowers or succulents
and trade in your winter mats with lightweight ones.
Winter will be out of sight and, thankfully, out of mind.

Better Homes and Gardens
This summer, wicker is set to star both inside and out.
Inside try an updated coffee table of rattan or a set of wicker dining chairs in the breakfast area.
ladolcevitablog
Paint Something with chalk paint!
fun home things
Set up al fresco dining at a small garden table on a porch or in the yard
Even if it is just for the kids…how cute is that???
The style files
Now that you have a few ideas, go enjoy your summer in a newly styled space!

Guest Blog on At Home in Arkansas: Garage Organization

May 14, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

For all of those who know me personally and have been to my house, then you must know this post  is a
I do have plans to someday get the garage neat and organized so
I have lots of pins that are good examples of tidy garages.

Spring is a great time to start a project like this- whether you are listing your home for sale or not.
It’s nice to have all of your things in easy to reach/use manner.

A well thought out plan is something that will help you stay focused.
(that might be what I am lacking)

After the plan, the most effective way to organize a garage is to next, empty it out…
I know that sounds awful, but really, it will help you visualize how the layout will work
without all of the clutter in your way.

While everything is out in the driveway, you can paint, hang your pegboard and install all of your vertical hooks, etc… Or have someone else do that part!

You will need to start piles for keep, trash and donate- the same as you would for closet cleaning.
Sort into categories: large tools (summer and winter); garden tools; lawn equipment; sports equipment; workshop tools; bikes, kids toys, etc…

Click link below for some ideas for the stuff you don’t want, but can’t throw away.

After you have paired down (hopefully alot),
you can start bringing everything back in and organizing.
Work in sections so you don’t get overwhelmed.

After all of your hard work, you can sit back and enjoy your organized garage.
You will be amazed at how much time you will save
not having to dig through all of your stuff every time you need something.
Or in my case, just walking to the door from the car!!!

And Maybe you will even have room for a car…or three!!!

Good luck and happy organizing

Tile Tuesday

May 13, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

Whether it be on the floor, wall or ceiling,
tile is a great way to add some style to your space.
This fireplace covered in Portuguese antique tiles is in a Venice Beach home
featured in interior designer Alexandra Angle’s portfolio
Cococozy
This Herringbone pattern in amazing on this kitchen wall

In this kitchen we used an amber colored glass subway tile on the entire wall.
It makes much more of an impact than just the back splash.

Who says your guest/hall bath can’t be fabulous!

Patterned Floor tiles can be your focal point in an otherwise simple room.
Or take the tile all the way to the ceiling
I love these penny round tiles on this curved ceiling.

We used 1″ square tiles covering the wall and ceiling over the tub in this master bath.

Friday Favorites

May 9, 2014 by Lindsey Filed Under: Uncategorized Leave a Comment

I am not sure about you, but I have tons of Pins that I pin and then never look at again.
So today, I decided to go back through some of them and see if I even still like them.
Here are some of my favorites from then (whenever I pinned them) and NOW!
I have been wanting to paint my kitchen chairs all different bright colors for a while.
Maybe some day!!!
Love the white trim on cabinet
I have a trunk almost identical to this one that my mom found at a local flea market 10+ years ago for me.
I have been thinking Danny could make an Iron stand for it and we could do something like this!
I just LOVE all the pattern and color here!
I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with these Floors
I just noticed that they have the same Number house as us!
Cool
Ha Ha
I love the stripes and the art!
Breathtaking
This one is Inspiration for our (FUTURE) bathroom remodel
Which do you still like after all these Pins???
